Level 3 and T-level Computing Entries in England, 2024
This short blog post explores the provision of Level 3 computing qualifications in England, using KS5 entry data from the Department for Education (DfE) and the Edubase database. The focus is on understanding the distribution of these qualifications across different regions and local authorities.
UPDATE: after a question from Ada College’s Mark Campbell I noticed that the KS5 entry data published by the DfE does not include the 1363 T-Levels studied in 2023/24 (Provisional November entries). T-level data is published separately. I’ve attempted to splice the two data sets together and the tables below now include T-Levels, which improves the picture a little bit. There are some T-Level providers that don’t have Edubase entries, so these 49 entries are not included in the tables below.

There were a total of 49,149 Level 3 computing qualifications entries in England in 2023/24, offered by 2,210 providers, with 7.7 qualifications per 100 students.
